Built for a Chinese restaurant or private dining room inside a hotel, this set mixes lacquer, leather and brass in a deep green palette.
The table has a wide dark-lacquered outer ring for place settings and a pale veined stone centre panel. On top sits a green stone lazy Susan. The base is a ring of green upholstered or fluted panels held between black posts with brass details, standing on a low plinth. The result looks solid from every seat and conceals the frame and turntable mechanism.
The armchair is a horseshoe frame in black-lacquered hardwood. The top rail curves round to form the arms and ends in brass caps. Slim spindles fill the space between arm and seat, a padded leather back sits inside the rail, and a thick leather seat cushion rests on the frame. Stretchers low on the legs add stiffness, and brass shoes protect the feet.
