The Cord Channel is built from simple blocks. Each arm is one squared column that steps out at the top into a flat armrest and drops straight to the floor. Between them, the back rises in rounded vertical channels with a scalloped top edge. The seat repeats the channels in a thick roll that curves over the front.
It is upholstered all over in a wide-wale corduroy, shown in mid-grey. Cord has a soft, tactile feel and a slight sheen that changes with the light. For heavy-traffic lobbies we recommend a contract cord or a velvet with a high abrasion rating, confirmed against your FF&E spec.
Construction
- Hardwood and plywood frame, corner-blocked
- Sinuous springs and high-resilience foam in the seat; channel-sewn back over shaped foam
- Grey corduroy shown; COM accepted
- Concealed glides under the arm blocks
Because it sits on its arm blocks rather than legs, the chair reads as solid and generous, and it suits large lobbies, reading lounges and hotel libraries. Allow a footprint of roughly 35 in (89 cm) square per chair when planning seating groups.
