The Bolster-Rail is a light, open lounge chair for spaces where heavy club chairs would crowd the room. The frame is black-stained solid timber, with straight tapered legs, flat arms and stretchers low down on the sides. A pale grey fabric seat is stretched across the frame as a sling. At the top, a round upholstered bolster spans the back posts on small brass brackets, and a loose cushion fills the gap below it to support the lower back.
Because you can see through the frame, several chairs together still look airy. That suits lobbies with glazing, where you do not want to block views.
Construction
- Solid hardwood frame, black stain
- Tensioned upholstered sling seat on concealed rails
- Upholstered bolster on brass brackets; loose back cushion
- Light grey fabric shown; COM/COL accepted
Specify it for hotel lobbies, residents' lounges and gallery-style receptions. Light fabrics in public seating need a stain-resistant contract weave; a leather sling is available for rooms with heavier use.
